Clementine drives straight to the subway vestibule. She skids to a stop and ushers us out. Before we can react, she seals the entrance behind us. "There's no way we'll all make it with the Sentinels on our tail. I can distract them for a

When I regain consciousness, I find myself trapped in a small metal cage, suspended above a pool of foul, stagnant water. B-12 is gone. My harness is gone. I am completely alone. I twist my body, and the cage begins to sway. I twist again, harder this time, and

I emerged from the vent into a dimly lit hallway lined with pale tiled walls, their surfaces cracked and stained with age. Old consoles were dark and silent along the sides. I followed the corridor upward and climbed a set of stairs until the space opened into a wide chamber.

I slowly pad down the decaying alley and as I approach the humanoid figure I realize it is a robot. It is tall and lanky with thin limbs and a boxy head. The moment it sees me, it freezes—then making slow inching footsteps backwards it activates an alarm and

For the first time since the fall, I stop to breathe. I am alone, but not lost. The air is warm. The flickering neon from the streets is replaced by a soft, amber glow that seeps from old lamps and humming monitors. Somewhere in the room, faint music plays — a
