About Me
I grew up playing video games but, for a long stretch of life, I stepped away from gaming almost entirely due to career, family, and other hobbies. Like a lot of people, I assumed my video game chapter had quietly closed.
Then I picked up The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
And everything came rushing back.
Returning to Gaming
What started as curiosity quickly became something more. Breath of the Wild wasn’t just a game—it was a world. A place to explore, to think, to experience at my own pace.
But there was one problem.
Life didn’t slow down.
With kids and a full schedule, I wasn’t playing consistently. Days, or sometimes weeks, would pass between sessions. And every time I came back, I found myself asking: Where was I? What was I doing? Why did this matter?
So I would restart the game because I felt disconnected from the playthrough.
The Origin of the Diaries
So I tried something simple.
I started writing.
At first, it was just notes of what I had done, where I had been, what I needed to remember. But quickly, it became something more.
I began journaling my experiences as if I were inside the world itself.
Not just:
“I completed this quest.”
But:
As I continue deeper, nearly ready to give up on finding anything significant, I come across a sight that takes my breath away—a massive stone temple carved into the rock at the very end of the canyon.
And everything changed.
Why I Do This
Writing these diaries transformed how I play games.
It slows everything down.
It deepens the experience.
It turns each play session into something intentional.
I’m no longer just progressing through a game but I’m living as a character inside it.
These journals help me:
- Stay connected to the story, even with long breaks
- Appreciate the art, environments, and world-building
- Create a lasting record of the journeys I’ve taken
- Revisit worlds before jumping into sequels
What You’ll Find Here
This site is a collection of those journeys.
Each game is documented as a living diary written from within the world, grounded in exploration, atmosphere, and the character’s perspective.
You won’t find traditional reviews or guides.
Instead, you’ll find:
- Immersive playthrough journals
- Environment-focused travelogues
- Reflections on story, lore, and design
- A personal record of rediscovering gaming—one world at a time
Who This Is For
If you:
- Don’t have hours every day to play
- Have ever forgotten where you left off
- Care more about experience than completion
- Love story, atmosphere, and world-building
Then you’re in the right place.
Final Thought
For me, gaming isn’t about keeping up anymore.
It’s about slowing down.
Paying attention.
And remembering the journey.
